making an xdf is the easy part.
locating the tables and figuring out their dimensions and conversion formulas involves learning machine languages and thinking on a level of logic and flow control that would give most people a migrane
I have a few bin files from 89 cadillac fwd that I was trying to read so I could compare sa ve and just a few others.I don't need the whole thing defined.is there a way to read a bin in text form or is it all going to look like jiberish unless I have an xdf.I'm just not familiar with he but can convert.I managed to find a few titles like spark latency in hex.checksum said 4c or c4.can't remember off hand but no xdf I saw has those characters. I have a ns1 xdf but have only been able to read one bin file and it's a modified bin.not quite what I was after.I have a list of bin files but no matching xdf that I've been able to find.I'll keep trying and searching.thanks for the reply.cheers

you can disassemble the code into raw 68k processor instructions like
and the tables will be in hex but you have to read the code to figure out how the tables are referenced.Code:CLRA LDX 0x0026 ADDA 0,X
in tunerpro, you can use tools > advanced > 3d data viewer, to find tables with a certain visible geometry, but it's very difficult and you might not know what they mean
you definitely need to figure out basics such as the bin's checksum location too so it can be regenerated when you change something or the ECM will barf
are you sure no XDF already exists for this platform?
Unfortunately I'm still too green to understand disassembly etc.I'm just after the stock cadillac tables from that tbi 4.5 engine for sa ve and a few others. I have a look up with all the ecms listed.ns1 is the only xdf I've been able to find.but that's for pfi and I did use the tables from a 92 eldo with 2240ecm.but I was after the earlier tbi years and by ecm listing I have not come across an xdf for any.I'll keep trying.thanks though for the advice.I lack experience in this part. But thanks for the help it's appreciated.

what ecm do you have? have you identified the mask that your bin uses? how 'bout the bcc from your prom? i'll see if i can find anything
I don't have the ecm.I do have a bin from an 88 4.5L tbi engine.I have the bcc and prom I'd etc off the moates bcc lookup.I was not able to find an xdf that reads it yet.I'm using 7747 and want to compare the sa ve table numbers to what I'm using.this is the bin im trying to read:ecm#1228322 AKYB
Prom id 3306.

Found a cadillac 4.9 bin 91-94 and the ns1 xdf seems to read it fine.but it does not have near as many things defined.I was able to read some spark latency settings in hex on the compare differences in tprt.some look like with in some kind of range of others I've seen accept at 2 rpm ranges it seems way low. The ve table has no adder and the tables have much more resolution but give me a better idea of what it looks like.as compared to all other sbc BBC tables I've seen.I haven't used any cadillac numbers in my bin yet as I had a few mechanical issues and am now sure I had vacuum leaks and have been removing fuel since fixing the leaks.leaks from the port injection set up that's not currently used. (Just injectors and rails there to plug the holes.)base gasket also had a spot that Im sure was leaking.put new ngk g power plugs in.I've done 25 logs since but only burned about 6 chips.today was first trip I got a couple lean numbers and most others between 120 and 130.some success hoping to swap back to 700 r4 next week and if time permits do 7427 swap.will see how bad trans swap goes.cheers
