    New to the site

Hello, I am Dan from Williamsburg, VA. I have a 1986 Olds 442 with a 350 SBC and 400 THM and a tired Eldlebrock 4BBL that I intend to replace with GM TBI. I also have a 1995 Suburban with stock 350 TBI and 4L60E. I want to do the 442 TBI swap to get some hands on experience with EFI, and am likely going to go with 1995 vintage components that will easily swap with the Suburban as replacement parts as needed. While I am at it, would like to swap the 400 THM with a 4L60E to have a 4 speed again.

If you are looking to upgrade to a '95 PCM, I would suggest going to a 4L80E instead of the '60E. Same gear ratios as TH400 and can take WAY more abuse than a '60E.
    1978 Camaro Type LT, 383, Dual TBI, '7427, 4L80E
    1981 Camaro Z-28 Clone, T-Tops, 350/TH350
    1981 Camaro Berlinetta, V-6, 3spd
    1974 Chevy/GMC Truck, '90 TBI 350, '7427, TH350, NP203, 6" lift, 35s

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have considered the 4L80E. I need to learn a whole lot more about which PCM to use, what options there are to interchange engines and transmissions.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been wading through the site, and its a lot to absorb. Is there a cross-reference of ECM/PCM by vehicle and year?

Kind of? Actually it is done by ECM/PCM number and the mask ID of the bin file (chip) Your 1995 Suburban is probably a 16197427 PCM and $OD. Take a look through this forum where everything is in order for each ECM/PCM.

The is an excel sheet that will get you started: ALDL-DataStreamTable-2-22-12.xls look in this thread for the download.
    http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?527-ALDL-DataStream-Information-as-Excel-XLS

    Hot to search in Excel:
-- On the title line, you will see double arrows on the right of each title.
-- Click on the double arrow. scroll to you find what you are looking for. Click on this item. Excel will now alter the display to only show that item.
-- You can click on another double arrow on the title line. This will filter the search some more.
-- If you know what data in a column you are looking for, you can click on (Custom filter ... ). Fill in what you are search for. Needs to match the data in the column.

Once you find an engine type, BCCFind will provide some more information. This web page is still under development & testing.

    http://www.gearhead-efi.com/BCCFind/...shtml?BCC=ZZZZ

type in the engine type. For example: L82

    This is the completed BCCFind:
