Timing chain broke last year and the truck has unknown mileage so when I dropped it at the machine shop I figured I might as well just rebuild instead of trying to do the bare minimum. As usually happens when ‘it will only cost a little more to XYZ’ is uttered I now have a 489 stroker with Brodix Race Rite 270 heads being assembled and just about ready to go on the dyno. I was hoping to stick with TBI and had mine ported by SPR along with a ported Edelbrock TBI intake. The internal regulator has been deleted in favor of an Aeromotive adjustable regulator, have an Aeromotive in tank 340lph fuel pump to help feed the beast etc. My plan was to go with Dynamic EFI conversion but now I am getting nervous and wondering what limitations I am going to run into and contemplating just tossing a Brawler carb on it so I can get my truck back on the road while I get things sorted. As it might be a factor the cam is a small 218/226@ .050 with .585 lift hydraulic roller. Thoughts?
