    TPS voltage confusion

Is TPS idle voltage .4-.6 or .3-.9?

    I'm using a MAP L98 manifold from a 90 Y car, thanks. Rob

    Re: TPS voltage confusion

MMY, PCM, OS numbers are a good starting point. For GM vehicles generally 0.50 V is where they like it, I try to keep it 0.45 - 0.6 V

I agree, .5 is the safest voltage. Thanks, Rob.

    Re: TPS voltage confusion

I discovered this yesterday. I adjusted my curb idle screw to obtain around 25 counts on the IAC and it ran the TPS up to .68V, the FSM calls for .6V. I pulled the TPS off and elongated the holes so I could adjust it and get it down to .6V. It caused a dead spot in my throttle until it reached 1.7% throttle opening. I kept bumping it up .01V until the dead spot was gone and wound up with .66V. Probably didn't need to elongate the holes to start with. You may want to watch for the same effect while adjusting yours. Wouldn't be a problem if your drag racing but if your trying to just ease the throttle it could be annoying, especially if you are running a manual tranny and trying to ease off from a stop without burning the clutch too much.

    Re: TPS voltage confusion

can kind of remember reading the MAP TPI's have the non-adjust TPS, and at key on the ECM reads the TPS which can be between .3 and .9, all the other years of the TPI being between .4 and .6.

I hope I'm not experiencing a Mandella effect and apologize to anyone reading this if I am.
