OBS fuel gauge with 603 OS

I have a 1999 Yukon Denali with a 6.0 LQ9, PCM Service # 12589462, OS 12587603. I am having issues trying to get the fuel gauge working.

Originally black box PCM. This is a PWM fuel gauge driven by PCM. What frequency should I use? The sender type should be "0" for single tank, but when I change it from "3" to "0" then save it reverts to "3".

Also the F0505 (7003) Primary Capacity Gauge is 270 gallons and I cannot change it either. I have tried several .XDF's with no joy.

    Any help or suggestions welcome.

.BIN file attached, .XDF file "12587603 - Release.xdf" from this site is too large to attach. I can email .XDF if needed. I do not have enough experience with UP to try it for this issue.

Looking at a 99 Yukon file and the file you posted with HP Tuners in the fuel system tab even though both calibrations use the same table names the axis labels are completely different. Primary Gauge and Primary Gauge Volume on the 99 Yukon the axis are labeled from 0-100% with break points every 2.5%. On the 04 OS you are using both tables go from 0-256 with break points every 2 units with no defined label what those numbers are. I don't think there is any way to correlate the data from the 99 to the 04 format. BTW the VIN in your file is for a 05 Escalade that never used that OS. That OS was only used in 04.

Re: OBS fuel gauge with 603 OS

Thank you for the reply 2xls1. I chose this operating system because it seems to have the most support (850 is another option), and a went with this PCM because I needed the analog AC output to make my AC work properly. So I understand, there is no way to make my fuel gauge work with this system? Is my only option to go with a aftermarket gauge set up similar to Dakota digital?

    Merry Christmas,

    Jeff

I don't know if there is any way to make it work. I was just pointing out the differences in the tables between the two calibrations. And it's not the OS you chose but rather the VIN in it is never used that OS.

There is one table that will convert easily. I can try to monkey with the other tables and come up with something for you to try but it will be after the holidays before I would have time to mess with it.

I would appreciate it. I'm still messing around with a couple of different tables. I will keep you informed if I make any progress. Enjoy your holidays.

I worked on a similar fuel tank gauge not reading correctly, 1998 Pickup with Black Box to '0411 computer upgrade. The '0411 base tune was a 2002 Express Van. The 1998 Pickup has a 25.9 Gallon Fuel Tank.

Perhaps the information below will be helpful:

The attached .zip "Modified Express Van Fuel Tank Calibrations" file is an Excel Spreadsheet with the pictured parameters that can be copied / pasted into a .bin file.

The P59s have an extra table called Primary Volume Gauge that the P01 calibrations don't have.

I'll leave it to you to help him with an actual file with the changes he needs.

I’m not sure the .bin file is the fix.

I wonder if the fuel level sending unit has to from a P59 vehicle application. I wonder if the fuel gauge in the dash has to be from a P59 vehicle application?

Could you share your bin file? What operating system are you using? Anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.
