MGP sensor instead of MAP sensor?

Has anyone here experimented using a Gauge Pressure Transducer instead of a MAP sensor?

The idea of using 100kpa on the tables as actual atmosphere despite altitude and baro conditions sounds interesting. In theory it sounds like a way to utilize the full range and resolution of the tables, also possibly target the same cells under the same driving conditions no matter the elevation.

Anyone tried it, pro's/con's?

Decided to experiment with it on my own set up: *Note: This efi controller has a separate baro sensor*

Using a DATAQ 2000361 series of -1Bar/+1Bar, 5vdc powered, 0.5v-4.5v linear output, conventional 3 pin harness, 1/8"npt fitting, <1ms refresh rate.







This is in my hometown with 84kpa atmosphere:







If not for any other reason, that Pressure Transducer signal is clean. A couple datalogs in MLVHD viewing raw data without smoothing

I've yet to visit the neighboring city to the south at 98kpa atmosphere or to the north at 78kpa atmosphere, we'll see how it does.
