Tuning requires burning chips. More often than not, several "Trial and Error" corrections to the chip programming are required to "Tune".

I understand. What I'm wondering is if we can tune the truck with just the WB, or if the APU1 system is needed to capture the WB data for re-burning. I would like to try to tune with just the WB.

I'm thinking you have the 1227747 TBI computer? If you have the 1227747 computer, the APU1 is needed to Capture / Insert the WBO2 information into the data log.

Correct I have the 1227747 ECM. We're just gonna have to wing it and burn multiple chips if necessary. I can't justify the cost of the APU1 system for this project. What is strange is that the symptoms get MUCH worse the lower the air temperature. When driving a couple days ago in +25F weather, it actually ran pretty decent. Only cut out a couple times. Today it is -5 and it cuts out and is very saggy in the 1000-1500 RPM range. That suggest to me it may be air/fuel related rather than spark.

Attached is a screen shot for the AE parameters used for the 1227747 computer.
