Is there a 2006 DBW Manual Trans file?

So we just fired up a 5.3 in my son's RX7 for the first time. Now that we have it running, I need to get the right tune dialed in for it. It is a L33 out of a 2006 Silverado with the associated DBW components. From what I understand and have seen, I need to use 2006 or 2007 (I think) so that it matches the TB & TAC module. I would like to swap in a manual transmission segment or find a file that starts out manual. Current file that I'm using is op. system: 12587811

    Any ideas greatly appreciated!

    Todd

I can't find anything 06 with a manual trans except the Vette and it uses an ECM/TCM so it's not compatible with your project. I "Believe" your 06 DBW components are compatible with 03-07 truck calibrations. I have an 04 truck DBW manual calibration. You didn't mention what format you need it in---Incase someone has exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks Lextech. The DBW components that we used (TB, TAC, Pedal assembly) are all from 2006. I first tried a 2004 file since I knew that there were 2004 manual trans & in fact there are some posted here. But I got a DBW not communicating error right away. With a 2006 file loaded up, no problem with the DBW. I'm thinking that there should be a 2006 base truck 4x2 w/manual but I'm not positive.

And thanks for noting that I need to mention what type of file I need. I'm working with TunerCat so I need a .cal file.

    Thanks!

You can also use a .bin file.
I'm doing the opposite right now and changing a DBW/Allison file to a DBC/4L80E file.

I have a couple 4.8L manual trans files that should work, just segment swap the 5.3 in.
Having an issue getting them to open on my desktop,I'll need to get on my laptop.
Some stuff has gotten corrupted in transition from one to the other it seems.

    Cancel that,mine was 2004 model.

Here is a 2004 4.8 manual if you want to try segment swapping the manual into your 2006 file.

I don't think that I can swap segments with that because the operating system will be different. True?

Not sure, some you can and some you can't pretty sure. They are both 1m pcm's so maybe?
Unfortunately 2006 is one of the vdf's I guess I don't have,so can't check (I tried to open to swap earlier).
when i'm back on laptop in a few I will try swapping the 5.3 into the 2004 file?
Maybe swapping all the diag, system and engine modules would work?
Just random thinking,no clue if it will work but i'll give it a try.

That is listed as a LS1b PCM, could you not change to an ealier 512k cal/bin and do this? Or would that require another PCM and not sure about TAC?

You could easily get an older tac and swap it in, just use a 1mb pcm tac. The 2006 is a different tac module but the pedal will work. We have swapped for an older tac module and then run the appropriate OS. If you just flash the earlier OS you will get the comms error.

The DBW is working fine so I don't really want to change to a 512k pcm. I can get the trans section setup for the T56, was just trying to save some time.

Maybe a misunderstanding... I'm not looking to make any changes to the DBW because it's working fine. I'm only asking about a manual transmission cal so that I could use it as a base or swap the trans module into the current file I'm using.

I understand that, I was just giving an easy way to get into an OS that would give you a manual.

2006 Sierra / Silverado with the 4.3L V6 had manual transmissions. These used the same OS as did the V8 trucks. This is what you will need to find. The OS were subject to update - yours is the oldest, potentially making it harder to find.

    The 2006 truck OS evolution was: 12587811 > 12605114 > 12606807 > 12613246

I have the 12606807 OS on file - but not in *.bin or *.cal format.

Thanks Buzz. That's very helpful. Wonder if anyone else here happens to have the files that I could use. Or I'll find the right truck on a used car lot and go for an extended "test drive" ;)
