Im using a Burn 2 with Tunerpro and a 27sf512 but Im using Flash & Burn to burn the chip. Dave sent me a starter bin file to put on the chip so I am taking that file directly to Flash & burn and onto the chip.

S3TPI said that the flashing CEL indicates that the ECM is not reading the PROM and the chip adapter connection may be at fault. I had an electronics shop install the ZIF socket for me; just trying to eliminate other possibilities before I take it back to them.

What did you find with yours, did you get it working?

TunerPro was not seeing my hardware (APU1) and I had to download the Moates drivers again (.dll files) and install them. Be sure to erase your chip first and address it right (see Dave's remarks).
Don't force it, get a bigger hammer!

I tried reinstalling the drivers and looked up how to disable checksum on Moates website. I made a separate bin file with checksum disabled. Also went back and checked continuity on all the ZIF solder connections including the 5 pins that get tied together. Still same issue.

Have you tried throwing a factory chip into the ZIF and seeing if it would still work? That should ensure that there were no problems introduced by installing the ZIF.

That was a great idea. The only factory chip I had was out of the 6 cyl computer but I gave it a shot and I have the same problem. I don't get it; according to my ohmeter all the connections have continuity where they should and are isolated where they should be.

I have the same problem with one of the 7747 to 7427 adapter harnesses I built. I've triple checked everything and it seems fine, but just doesn't work right. It can be very frustrating.
