As Tom said we get carried away in another direction because of the topic, thought you already had figured it would need a 5.7L Memcal from the same 16197427 PCM that you have.

Not sure why Tom said a 7060 PCM?

If it was that easy, why didn't TBI Harris supply me with the right one to start with?

Simple answer , he didn't have one and basically knew you wouldn't know the difference .

Don't mean to be harsh , but that's probably what happened.

V8 Memcals for the 7427 don't seem to be all that readily avalible , so he probably made a V6 one and knew you didn't know the difference.

Good thing is now you know what you need to make it right , just need to find it.

You would not be the first! We fix a lot of these issues! One guy had a brand new transmission and his custom tune was from a 1994, his transmission was a 1995 and the chip/bin file are differant do to the PWM TCC lockup!

I think he meant me Tom?

There's no talking down to anyone here, it's all friendly and positive, no flaming etc... I see the way I worded that could have been taken the wrong way and I do apologise! Sometimes things happen on the net when people aren't face to face to hear tone of voice and facial expressions.

If you ever get out of the middle of no where Montana and come through Coeur d'Alene Idaho stop by and say hi over coffee!

If you are in need of a 7427 V8 memcal I have a couple spares. The BCC is BNKM which I am pretty sure is for a 95 350 with a 4L80E. Also pretty sure the code mask on the chip is $31. But if your burning your own, it wont matter. But it is a V8 knock module on it with the proper V8 limp home chips.

Thanks, that may work. How much do you feel you would need for it?

These popular PCMs are getting scarce and I can see a shortage in years to come for the V8. Just like the Camaro 7727/7730, there are still plenty of ECM's left from the V6 cars, but a V8 memcal from those is top dollar. Maybe the 97427 will be the same someday?
