I wrote this in '99 or so, before the first website went online. It's not really up to today's standards. It needs a GUI and a more sophisticated search engine. The DOS program doesn't always play nice with winnows versions after 2000. When using allfield and reverse searching there's no real way in the program to log all the results (although I do have a kluge). Neither program's results lend themselves to printing. Font and window size aren't easily adjustable. And there are several other issues as well.
A friend of mine used to get free parts from the junkyards by using BCCFind to identify their unknown ecms and chips. The yard guys loved it. And being able to narrow down the ecm to V6, V8 etc made it easier to match application and calibration which made customers happy.I love the BCC Find tool for when I'm out at the wreckers or friends hand me a MEMCAL to see if it's useful for me or not. :D
