I have an '83 305, Qjet, Edelbrock Performer intake and mild cam mated to a '91 4l60 with automatic TC lockup conversion in a 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser. I have no smog requirements.
I just bought a complete TBI system from an '87 1 ton pickup (350 engine).
I know I will need to replace the injectors and memcal pack.
I will need to delete the EGR.
I will need a memcal pack for either a manual trans or TH400.
I have a 16 pulse VSS that connects to a programmable AutoMeter speedometer. I bought this to allow me to reprogram the speedometer after tire size and gearing changes.
I assume I can get a custom programed chip to replace the stock prom to deal with the trans and EGR. My question is about the VSS and what I should do about it.
Suggestions? Will I be able to run without the VSS setting? What does it do exactly?
Thanks,
Steve
