Do you have access to any of the ~1980-88-ish Cadillac diagrams? I believe Cadillac started using the 2000PPM VSS in 1980, and the radios in *most* cars were similar up until the late 80's, so I figure Cadillac being Cadillac, I am hoping at some point they may have added the functionality to the existing radios, prior to the change to the later style radios. I don't know Cadillac well enough to know what the top end Cadillac's were in the 80's.

I've not found any reference to anything like that in the forums, but Cadillac had a console cell phone offered in the late 80's apparently, which was integrated with the radio setup, so I don't think it outlandish to think they may have offered a speed sensitive radio setup the same vintage. Can't find any radios on ebay with the external boxes like I've seen before.

    82 eldo: CB, no SCV.
84 eldo: delco bose system, individual amps for each speaker? no SCV, other radio option has CB, no SCV
86 eldo: same amp setup, some more integration, but no SCV
88 eldo: essentially same as 86
90 eldo: essentially same as 86
92 eldo: WAY different, split radio setup, probably not what you're looking for.

    fleetwood looks similar.

even started looking at the allante stuff, they didn't even use it, and those were even higher level than the eldos.

Well, maybe the Cadillacs were so nice they didn't need it! Definitely appreciate the lookup.

Any ideas on other vehicles GM might have used it on? Corvette's? I figure if Cadillacs didn't have it, pretty unlikely anything else did, but Corvette was somewhat of it's own brand. I'd never heard of this before though, so I suspect that it may have simply been used only later on. I try to stay focused on just a couple of makes and models, otherwise I'd get even less stuff accomplished.

Yes, looks like the "Delco/Bose" systems of the early 90's in the Vettes were a completely different radio. Heck, Ford was doing this in 1957, what took GM so long??

1989 seems to be the last year for the "old" style radios in Vettes.

Looks like it's a dead end. Schucks. Oh well, would have been a fun project, but I've got more. Thanks again!
