I have a 405 Chevrolet small block. Wanting to NOT CARB IT!!!
My first thought was pull a vortec ecu, sensors etc, and retrofit it all to the engine.
I can do most machining myself.
I want to throw the poppets in the trash. Use port injectors in my manifold.
Any suggestions there?
Also toying with 88-95 TBI possibility, quite a bit easier to accomplish for sure.
Any input on efi vs?
Shouldn't either one control spark?
btw, is the reluctor for crank sensor (vortec) able to be installed on older cranks?
Engine- 400sbc .020 over, dish pistons 63.4 cc heads right at 10:1 compression 5.7 rods probably use a 270 comp roller cam or 264/270 comp roller. Idle-5500 and the factory 5800 rev limit won't bother me a bit. You know, a TRUCK motor....
