    SA -ALDL/closed loop

Was looking around in my $42-1227747-v4.3.xdf today and noticed something I haven't seen before.. "ALDL/Closed Loop Spark"

The note says that this is spark added when in ALDL mode, which I get, I think.... But the parameter comment also says "Zero this or else you will be chasing knock issues for a LONG time"......

So what? Just zero it out and leave it???? Why is it even there?

ALDL mode is when there is a 10K ohm resistor across the A and B terminals of the ALDL connector. If you don't add that resistor, you shouldn't have any issues.

That note was in one of the several $42 I put together. I think years ago people thought all 160 Baud ECM needed the 10K resistence? Moates AutoProm Website has a picture that says switch needs to be left for 160 Baud, switch left is 10K resistence... not needed.

Okay I thought it might have something to do with the 10K ohm switch on my ALDL cable...

I have been datalogging with that switch 'open' rather than at 10k. Is this right? Sounds like I don't need to even mess with this setting?
