    Hello From North Carolina

Hello from Catawba, NC and thanks for letting me join. My name is Bill and I have retired twice.
    I’m currently working on an LS swap of a 2002 2WD Silverado 5.3/4l60e into my 2WD 1973 Chevrolet C10.
I've been working on Chevrolet vehicles for 50 years, mainly carbed vehicles, and now in the transition to fuel injection and computers.
After making this decision, I found that those in my area wanted anywhere from $250-450 to tune my computer. I immediately started looking into tuning it myself and start tuning for others.

I checked into other software programs, but just couldn’t see paying that company every time I wanted to tune a computer. SO, I just kept looking.
I came across Tuner Pro when searching for computer tuning software, found that it was open source and thought I’d read as much as possible on them and give it a try.
So, here I am, wanting to learn as much as possible. I’ve downloaded Tuner Pro and getting ready to download the other files I will need to start tuning and getting the right OBD2 scanner tool. I’ve already built my bench top harness.
I’ve already started reading the sticky notes and Tutorials. I do have a few questions if I don't find the answer in searching the forum.

I’m just interested in tuning the computers for the basic LS swap that would go into older vehicles that didn't have computers at this time. Not interested in custom tuning involving turbos, aftermarket cams, heads and intake

    Gearhead-efi link to OBD2 Tuning: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...2-OBDII-Tuning

TunerPro OBD2 has several vehicle definition files(.xdf files), but not a comprehensive library of vehicle definition files like the expensive commercially available tuning software does.

Thanks Dave. I've been setting up and playing with Tuner Pro, I didn't download the RT version yet. I have a spare ECM that I'm going to practice on.

I use TunerCats OBD2 software, one HUGE upfront cost with UNLIMITED flashes WITHOUT credit fees or licensing fees. http://support.moates.net/gm-tunercat-obd2-tuner/ Supported Vehicles: http://www.tunercat.com/tnr_desc/vdf_sup.html

TunerCats OBD2 does not data log, it's read / edit / write (flash) software.
