    Question Hello from Texas

Another newbe here. I go by JJ (Not The Boss). Just built a new LSX 440 for my Z06 Vette. I'll post some pics later. I've never tuned more than a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower though. Hoping I can find tuning info on late model GM stuff, Does anyone here tune Gen 4 LS?

I have tuned pretty much all of the aftermarket boxes, as well as A LOT of the GM stuff over the years including Gen 5. Is your vette an e38 or e67?

How do I find out? I am totally clueless when it comes to tuning. I can build a killer engine though.

What year is your vette? Is it the stock ecu? Does the ecu have 2 connectors or 3? When you built the engine does it have a 24x or 58x reluctor wheel on the crank?

Its an 08 Z06, ECU has 2 connectors was tuned before I bought because 1st owner had Fast LSX intake, and Nick Williams 102 TB, Comp Cam. Misfires were turned off. I should know the reluctor wheel question. I used my stock LS7 4" stroke crank in a new 454 LSX block but I cant remember. I think it was 24x.

    Hello,
A '08 LS7 should have a 58x crank reluctor and an e38 ecm. I don't know of any freeware versions of software for programming this ecm at this time. I think the least expensive will be HpTuners. I prefer EfiLive over HpTuners though. I have TunerCat, HPT and Efilive. TunerCat is awesome but I think now you have to buy it from another source(JET). HPT has a lot of support on their forums. Anyway, just rambling now. Good luck with your project
