    Oil sender LT 1

    Working on the LT1 swap into 79 Malibu wagon and noticed I broke the LT1 oil sender. Is this only for the electrical dash gauge on the 94 Z28? I’ll be running a mechanical oil pressure gauge and was planning on tapping in here anyway. I want to make sure this sensor is not needed for pcm function in any way. Can I just remove it and remove the harness plug for it?

    It is for dash display only. Tapping will not cause any harm. You can use the port to hook the mechanical oil pressure gauge.

    Thanks, In that case I'll be removing it and its wiring and running a copper oil line to a mechanical gauge from that port
