As a kid I used to go to work with my dad who was (Is) a custom cabinetmaker ,
Anyways, at the lumberyard he worked at we (The adults) used to have "Nail Gun" fights , where we would shoot stick guns at each other from across the lot from building to building , granted they had turned the regulators down a tad and by the time the stick would get to the other side it had lost alot of velocity , but it still stung like a b*&^h if you got hit .
Looking back , i'm amazed myself , my pop , and the other employees had all of the equiptment we were born with after years of that crap.......
Oh , and FWIW, I have shot myself with my Paslode gun in the past , right through the skin on my foot .......

Back in about 1974 they were building a Burger King in the town I grew up in. Next door was the old Baskin Robbins across about 100 foot parking lot. Concrete nail gun went off? But the nail went across parking lot, through wall and stopped in a girls head at Baskin Robbins. She died... we had some same classes in school.

i've seen some pretty bad nail & hilti gun accidents. we use hilti guns at work to shoot nails into concrete decks to install acoustical ceilings. i've seen lots of riochets and even seen a co-worker shoot one through him palm because it malfuctioned and his way of clearing it was to slap the end of the gun with his palm.
i've also seen trim staplers come out the side and into a couple of fingers

Having a good education (Non Public schools) is good through high school! Not so sure about higher education after that now a days? Seems there's no where to use it for employment? Plus huge student loan debt? People doing well now are in trades and not afraid to work! Working hard is not a bad thing, especially when you can work smart.

FINALLY!!!
I've spent over an hour today, digging a sliver of chrome plating out of my finger, under the nail.
I was working in a car today, when I wanted to test the seat belt, so I reached down and a sliver of the chrome plating went into my finger, right under the nail, index finger on my right hand, I'm right handed. Oh gawd did it cause pain.
The problem is that it broke into at least 3 pieces after going in. I got one little piece out right away, then came home and dug a small piece out, that I thought was it, then I've just spent about 45 minutes digging out the last piece, that just wouldn't let go.I finally got it, it had quite the curve to it and was shaped is such a way that would be similar to a barb, larger on the part farthest in, so it was holding it. Now I can go back to using my finger as normal.

FINALLY!!! x 2!!!
I just pulled another piece out of my finger, an even larger piece than the last one. Luckily this piece was being pushed out on it's own, so I was able to grab it with some tweezers easily and not need to dig for it. That's 4 pieces of this chrome plating sliver I have removed from my finger. It finally feels like it's all out now.
