I bit the bullet and ordered the afe header, hopefully I made the right choice.

Eagle's always been free...
The man who says something is impossible, is usually interrupted by the man doing it.
In the recent past Eagle was CadSoft, but was purchased by PentaLogix who scaled back on the free version of Eagle. For the price of a few boards, PentaLogix is offering licensed versions. Maybe a good deal, maybe not. I think it's worth sharing the Eagle news with the members here.
Not very many members here are interested in doing their own PCB's. The Eagle auto-routing feature and Gerber file generation are great PCB features in a freeware version! Other freeware PCB software available will lock the design to use only specific board production facility. With Eagle, the Gerber files will allow most any board production facility to make a board.
I live in an area where there are several PCB manufactures and / or companies that will assemble (wave solder) components to PCB's. I'm about 30 miles from an Intel facility (Hillsboro Oregon).

Finally got my target rifle back together! Been almost two years since I last shot it. Had to have the scope mount holes in the reciever re drilled (they were drilled canted from the factory) had the action timed and trued, competition recoil lug, target (lightweight) trigger spring (sharp shooters supply), tactical bolt handle (ebay), had the stock inletted for a detachable AICS mag (CDI precision) and then reinstalled the barrel I had on it before (douglas premimum air gaged) Then coated it in duracoat.
Specs: Savage long action (left handed), caliber 6.5x55 sweedish, barrel 1in bull, 28in long, 1-8 twist, scope is a 10-40-60. Yea its a china scope I got for a good deal at a gunshow, but its 1/8moa target turrets, side focus, illuminated mil dot crosshairs and looks to be pretty decent glass. Guess I will find out when I shoot it.
Now I just need to load some ammo and find some time to get to the range.

There is an unofficial slogan that is said in Portland Oregon, "Keep Portland Weird". I think the actual location of the "Batmobile" in Longview Washington, about 50 north of Portland just off of I-5. I can't tell from the pictures, but maybe the Batmobile has Oregon Plates? Area code 971 is an Oregon area code.
I think it would be fun to drive the Batmobile for special events ... Mardi Gras ... Halloween ... ????
