I wouldn't swap a Vette segment into anything. Vettes have too many idiosyncrasies you just don't see in other vehicles. Tuning a 6.2 LS3 to run starting with the 08 E38 6.0L calibration would be so easy. I don't know why everyone is trying to make this so complicated. Roughneck gave you everything you need.

I like all the input I'm getting about the options to custom Flash a LS3 / 4L80E. Looking into the future, others might have a need for the same Flash. Posting the Pro's and Con's of the different options is a good thing.

I have not made a decision on which option to go with. In a perfect world, a Factory LS3 / 4L80E would be the best option (which does not exist). The next best option has many variables to sort through. I tend to favor a "custom" flash that has the fewest changes. Most times a segment swap within the same Operating System is a good plan.

Incase someone in the future looks back on this tread, I've posted the stock .cal files (6.0 Liter & 6.2 Liter) for OS 12617631

Finally managed to find some files that can be used for the project.

Here is stock 08 ls3 auto vette bin.
08 l96 auto bin - file doesn`t look stock. I suspect a vats patch is applied.

08 l96 auto bin segment swapped for engine and engine diagnostics from vette file.

Some l96 trans file. must be for 4l80e

Some other stock files 08 with the same OS.

Dave you didn`t give more details for the rest of the car. Will it need speedo fixed, or system fixed, what Tac modul it will use and so on.

You can give it a try with current files and work from there.

I don`t think tuning l96 file for ls3 will be too easy. It can be made to run somehow but will be too far from stock drivability. You can`t beat stock gm engineers, with the number of tables involved there is tons of difference to fix. ls2 and ls3 heads don`t share much of an airflow pattern.
