Dave any chance you can use an ls3 oS upto 2011. After that there is a new code revision used, and will be much harder to figure stuff. It will be best if the t42 OS to be from the same year as ls3 OS.

I've never used EFI Live on Gen 4 stuff. Only Gen 3. When you read a ECM/TCM combination with EFI Live dies it create 2 separate files like TC OBD2 does or does it combine both controllers into one file like HP Tuners does?

I'm saddled into 2009 because the ECM / TCM I'm using are from 2009. The 2009 ECM has the trans parameters I think I need for a LS3 flash. The challenge is the LS3 vs. LY6 Operating Systems parameters do not align.

The only LS3 .bin file I have is the 2013 file I previously posted. I will Google for a 2009 Camaro LS3 .bin file, or a 2009 Camaro VIN to purchase a .cal from from TC.

This one can be opened. I added some extra data that is not used to match the chip size.

SLave must match main OS or you will get all kind of troubles.

I got some e38 bins archive and can source you a 09 ls3 bin but needs to know a Vin or Os and cal p/n. Check the slave p/n on the pcm you have so we make sure it matches the new 09 ls3 OS.

Some list with ls3 application

I've posted the Calibration Information from a 2008 Corvette (LS3 / 6L80E) .cal file I have. I don't have a 2009 Corvette .cal file or a 2009 Corvette .bin file.

I'm banging my head trying to get the 2009 Pickup E38 / T42 I have to "Play Nice" with a LS3 / 4L80E powertrain swap that wasn't well thought out.

The likely solution is use a Tech 2 and flash the 2009 Pickup ECM with a 2009 Corvette Flash and get this LS3 / T42 flash in the rear view mirror.

I think you are too hung up on needing to start with a vehicle calibration that has a LS3. It's just a 6.2 without DOD or VVT. All you have to do is start with the 08 6.0L and 4L80 calibrations Roughneck posted and tune it for the 6.2 LS3. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...80e-cal-needed

And any Vette using an E38 was never paired with a T42. It it was an Auto it would have been a 6 speed with a T43. Same with Gen 5 Camaros.

Depends on what throttle body and pedal you use. I believe all gen 4 trucks use the same pedal. And if you use a 07-09 (maybe others too) truck throttle body it should. You should probably avoid a gold blade TB. It might help if you give more details on what kind of vehicle this is all going in (assuming its a swap) and what harness it's using.

Did some indepth digging.

Found this Vin from roughneck post

It uses the same OS as the vette bin and the tcm part is set for 4l80e gearbox.

We can segment swap the engine segment from the vette bin and you should be good to go.

NOw you need to find some 2008 pcm/tcm or make yours work with that vin, than we can segment swap it.


It looks like all 2008 bins have the same part number for SLave OS, but the Slave cal numbers differ. I suspect that is responsible for the TAC pedal and if you match them it will work with any 2008 slave cal/tac pedal pairs.

I also found some bins with the same OS that use 4l60e box. If anyone needs to put ls3-4l60e combo.
