    LS3 with 4L80E

I've been asked to help with a LS3 engine / 4L80E trans swap into a daily driver.

For the moment I'm focusing on using a 2008 E38 ECM / T42 TCM. The 2008 Corvette came with the LS3 and E38 ECM. Some 2008 GM Pickups used the T42 with the 4L80E.

The question I'm wondering about is if the Operating System for the 2008 Corvette E38 ECM will work the the 2008 Pickup T42 Operating System?

    Thanks in advance,
    dave w

I've changed directions, I'm focusing on factory Gen IV / T42 files. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...80e-cal-needed

It should. A number of years ago I tuned a 67 Nova that had a LS3 with an E38 that was running a Corvette OS. This particular car had a 4L60-E with a T42 and it had a 2008 truck OS on the TCM. Worked fine, but had a trouble code for transmission p/n switch or something like that (I can't remember for sure).

I looked recently at some e38 files. They have settings for transmission type, gear ratios and some other stuff.
I can try to set up something for you if you want to experiment. I will need the bin of the ls3 you have.

Attached are the 2009 C2500 .bin files (converted from .cal link previously posted above) I think I will modify for the LS3 / 4L80E engine and trans project.

I'm able to open the E38.bin file with EFI Live.

EFI Live will not open the T42.bin file, but TunerCats OBD2 does. What the heck is happening with WinFlash OBD2???
