    Edelbrock 3500 Pro Flo System

    As the title states ,

Anyone have any first hand knowledge on these early setups ?

Wonder if it would be possible to use the '7427 in PFI mode with the high impedance injectors the system uses instead of using the Edelbrock supplied handheld that apparently does not really have that much capability for tuning outside of a stock engine.

Picked up 2 complete units for free in a car I bought , just curious of possibility's .

    Any input is welcome

I switched an Edelbrock 3500 Pro Flow System to a 16197427 converted to MPFI mode, mostly for a low cost 4L80E conversion. The low impedance injectors can be used with resistors. The injector offsets are challenging. The default injector offset settings in the MPFI conversion information is adequate, not optimal.

Another option is TunerCat. TunerCat has support for the old Edelbrock 3500 systems.
Its been quite a few years, but I did tune a few of them with TC's TDF:

If you're comfortable with any of the common GM OBDI ECMs, the Edelbrock 3500
stuff won't look much different. The TC definition for the 3500 series opens up WAY
    more than the handheld allows.

Attached is TBI to MPFI information.

The injectors are wired 4 to each back, so instead of one TBI injector per bank there will be four MPFI injectors wired together in parallel like TPI injectors are wired together.

dave, it sounds like you have done this conversion before. i thought with the 7427 you could only batch fire on an 8 cylinder. But it sounds like you can do bank fire? or am i misunderstanding that you wire them in separate banks but they still batch fire?

I've done the MPFI conversion several times. My way of thinking of Batch V8 Injector Firing is 4 injectors firing on the Odd Bank and then 4 injectors firing on the Even Bank. The 16197427 MPFI mode is firing the injectors once every 4th Distributor Reference Pulse (DRP). TBI firing is once every DRP.

If you're interested in getting rid of one of them, let me know. Would LOVE to experiment with this.
