    What are you guys using?

What kind of PC are you guys using? I'm in the market for a laptop that I can use for tuning and daily use.

I posted the link above because I have a "Day Job" at HP. I've purchased several refurbished laptops from HP, mostly for gifts to friends and family.

I had an HP ProBook 450 G5 that was stolen and now have a ProBook 450 G6. I think this series is one of the best values available. I would recommend it to anyone unless they need a really nice display for photo editing/etc. Micro Center usually has good pricing if you have a store near you.

Whatever you buy, I'd recommend getting a 12VDC power supply for using in the car. Amazon has them for most models and they're a lot more efficient than running off of a power inverter and don't have any noisy fans like most small inverters do.

Yes, whatever you get, make it something with a solid state drive.

Agreed. An SSD can be added to any modern laptop for cheap. I bought a 240GB SSD today for less than $30

My wife bought an HP 17" for me on QVC "today's special value" a couple years ago. It has Intel Core i3, 1TB SSD, and 8GB RAM. The only issue is the lid is starting to crack near one of the hinges from opening and closing. I put some clear epoxy on it to delay it's destruction. IIRC it was ~$800 with Microsoft 365 family which gives us 5 licenses to share for $99/Year. Here's a link in case you're interested. HTH
