First, thank you for the add to this site!

I am in the process of doing my first LS swap into a old Camaro. I have been a person to work on cars my adult life but typically always stayed away from electronic control motors due to lack of experience or availability of costly tools. My hope is I can learn a fair bit on this site to expand my knowledge base as well make this first LS swap a success.

My first motor is from a 04 4wd drive by wire system with the harness completely modified (I hope I did it all correctly). I did power up the motor and computer and used my normal scan tool to read the computer and I did get the system to read, I hope that is a good start. I am stopping by the junk yard on the way home to get a blue connector so I can work on the process (LS droid to tunner software) inside (hot as heck out).

For now, I am thinking of using the 60 trans, unless I can come across an 80.

What a way to dive into automotive electronics. Sounds like you have done your homework for this swap so you should be all set. Ensure you have the ability to communicate with the ecm as that will become critical to success after you have flushed out any bugs in the mechanical and wiring portions of the job.
