gm speed sensor on tbi efi setup

i have a engine and ecu out of a 94 gmc sonoma.
the transmission is a 700r4 and i was told it was out of a 90 s10.

i have been looking around trying to figure out how to hook up the speed sensor and it seems i need a speed sensor buffer to accomplish this..
the original transmission for this ecu is a 4L60e so the programming will need to be changed.

whats worse is that the speed sensor buffer seems to be custom programmed to the axle gear ratio, and is no longer offered.

    any ideas?

can i get an aftermarket sensor to fit in the transmission that i can directly wire into the ecu?

the truck runs now, but i was looking into making it better and it was mentioned that connecting a speed sensor would be a good thing to do.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks, grum

yeah thats the unit i was looking to get, but with a little more poking around, it looks like i can feed the sensor output from the transmission directly to my ecu if i get a 2000 pulse per mile speed sensor.
i just gotta figure out exactly which one that is and wire it up and then play with the bin file to make it happy .... i think.... lol

it may get tricky being my overall gear ratio after the transmission (transfer case and differential) is 14.16 to 1

im not sure if i will be able to accomplish accurate speed feedback to the ecu, honestly i dont care about a speedometer due to the offroad nature of the truck.

TBI computers are 2000 (2K) Pulses Per Mile.

The 4L60E and 4L80E usually have 40 Pulses Per Driveshaft Revolution trigger wheels.

If the 14:1 ratio outputs less than 250,000 pulses per mile, one option to provide the TBI computer 2K pulses is the Digital Dakota Universal Speedometer Signal Unit SGI-5 E: https://www.dakotadigital.com/index....rod/prd126.htm & the manual: https://www.dakotadigital.com/pdf/SGI-5e.pdf
