    1992 Corvette $das2,Ads,adx Problems

To start things off ive been trying to figure this out for the last three days with no advancements. I bought myself a Moates aldu1andcabl1, and Ostrich 2.0, and G1 adapter. Once i got everything i installed all the Moates drivers and tunerprort,Winflash. With the untouched ECM i tried to pull the factory files with winflash and repeatedly got errors. Went onto the moates support page and went threw the trouble shooting guide, using Tunerpro to test the functions of the cable(All functions working properly). But still wasn't able to connect using winflash, after that i tried to use the TunerProsrt data scanner. That kept giving me errors, after trying to trouble shoot them i figure out if i removed all the extra fuses besides the ecm,ccm fuses i got no more errors but the data would have random spazzes and would glitch everything out. I couldn't figure out what was going on so i decided to swap everything over to the Ostrich and load in a bin,xdf,ads/adx file.
Using the files under the 16159278 ecm thread i used the Da2.xdf along with the $da2.ads converted to a adx file and uploaded it to the ostrich each of the attached bins seemed to give me some sort or problem between no start or starting and turning off with in a few second. And the last file i used is the BDBK file which allows me to start and idle but wont rev past 3k as well as with ignition on both fans turn on (high speed) and the odometer reads 0. I found out if i remove the gauges fuse fans turned off and idle smoothed out. Those problems don't occur with the other bins but the car wont run or idle with the other bins listed. Threw out all of the bin swapping also decided to datalog what was going on but now there is no connection with the ecm... I decided to go back into tuner pro and read threw everything and found out that the da2.xdf file seems to be missing half of the flags scalars and tables. After some searching i found another xdf file listed as $DA2222222 put that back in tunerprort and went over everything again to see if it would help and no luck.

After all that im stuck and not sure where to go besides trial and error hoping i find a file that works. Any help or guidance id appreciate it greatly!

If anyone happens to have the factory/stock xdf,bin file for a 92 auto($DA2,16159278). A ads or adx file would be great as well so i can figure out whats going on.

First post btw if i messed anything up my bad.

Winflash is for the 94-95 Corvette and will not work with the 92-93. Pulling the stock BIN from your car can be done by making a memcal adapter and plugging that into your chip burner of choice, then reading the chip. The part number for the adapter in the attached photos is CWN-370-34-0000. It needs to be trimmed off on one side to fit, as in the photos.

This is very much old-school tuning territory, with burning chips and making small changes one at a time. The Ostrich will save you a little time doing the tuning part once you get up and going, but in the end it's still an old-school way of doing things. Best of luck.

okay, i am aware of that way of doing it. But with the aldu1 and cable1 i thought that would allow me to pull the bin file onto my pc without a burner or reader like you showed, as well as giving me datalogging capability.

if you wanted to, you should actually be able to pull your bin with flashhack, i think.

do you want to try it for me, just for the hell of it?

you just get flashhack (see my signature),
    use the LT1 processor,
then in the advanced tab, do an M2 rom dump
enter F4 in the device field then hit READ

it might be offset poorly, so just throw that bin up here and we can see what's up.

Just change the filename then to one of the ones that's supported, like TXT or BIN.

so update on the problem, i was able to get a stock bin, a working xdf, and a adx file. plugged everything in and car started right up drove around and worked perfectly until.... i noticed the asr light come on. Went for a quick spin around the block and came back home parked it in the drive way and turned it off... I tried to restart the car and problems, check engine came on and the asr light stayed on as well, the relays under the passenger dash were clicking rapidly as well as both fans came on. Car would crank but no start, as well as the smell of gas. So now that i figure out one problem i got another on my hands. I just finished installing a few electrical parts,(nitrous controller, along with all the wiring for switches and signals). I did move around a bunch of wires as well as grounds and plugs on the passenger side of the car. I hope that is whats causing the problem once i go threw all that wiring, ill give it another shot. If the problem continues ill go back to the stock mecal and chip to see if that fixes it. Then i know there is a problem with the newly added tuning equipment.

As well as the flashhack it worked for me with the directions you gave me, the only thing is it gave me a (.file) it wont give me a option to change the extension

If you're on Windows, that means you have "hide file extensions for known file types" selected. I'm not sure which version of Windows you have, so look up that phrase on Google for the version of Windows you've got. Once that setting is unselected, you can change the extension of any file the same way you would its filename. So just change the name of the file Flashhack gave you to BIN.

tunerpro will open a file without a .bin extension
as far as posting stuff like that on the forum, right click and go 'add to zip file' then post the zip file

Hiya steveo, are you saying flashhack can read the contents of an eprom via the obd1 port? I ask because the thread title says '92

yep should dump any currently addressed memory including ram rom eeprom whatever

it almost seems like an accident that gm left this enabled in most 8192 baud obd-i devices

That's really cool. I'll play with that in the future. Playing lt-1 obd1,2 for now :)
