    7427 4l60e questions

Hey everyone long time...Im currently working on a 93 Silverado 1500 with a blown transmission I just got

I think I read the computers are interchangeable and would like to use the 7427..

What years of 4l60e can the 427 can operate?
I have a 97 or 99 I could buy as replacements here and was just wondering If I'd be able to use the 427 to control them, or am i stuck from 93, 94, and 95 years?

IF I can use a 97, do I need to cut a length of harness from a junkyard to wire up to the 427 pinouts?

    Thank you.

93 and 94 transmissions are what you're limited to for your wiring harness and computer. A 95 is a one off year 4l60e with a pulse width modulation torque converter lockup but can be used with your current 16168625 pcm if you add in the wiring and memcal to control it. If your current pcm is fine, no need to replace it.

1996ish-2003 4l60Es will not work for you with the 93-95 tbi pcms. You can use them with a separate transmission controller or a later pcm modified to be only a transmission controller

There is no wiring harness difference between a 94-95 4l60e in a TBI truck with a 7427 PCM. It is debated that 95 may or may not be PWM TCC but there is still only one TCC solenoid in a 95 4l60e truck. In 96 OBD2 4l60e got two TCC solenoids, one on/off solenoid and one PWM solenoid.

I worked in a trans shop for a long while and tested solenoid ohm readings from many transmission connectors. Every 1995 truck 4l60e I disassembled had 2 TCC solenoids. The on/off and the pulse width solenoid. There is also an added wire to the internal harness (pin "U") for the PWM solenoid only found for the 1995 TBI harness and not found in the 1994. 96-2003 had different resistance range solenoids and a different 3-2 solenoid.

AGREED! 13 pin case connector starting in 95. 2 TCC solenoids. IIRC the pump is also stamped PWM.

Well, I've been misled by the diagrams I have.

Here is a good source for valvebody differences.
