    TBI swap O2 sensor location

I'm planning to swap in a TBI system on my 63 comet with a 302 with Doug's tri y headers. The car will be getting a new exhaust soon and I need to know where to put the O2 bung. Should I put it just behind one of the collectors, or should I have an h pipe put in with a bung so that both banks can be monitored? I plan to run a heated O2 sensor, BTW.

I usually place the O2 in a collector. Sampling in the exhaust generally gets two cylinders from each barrel of the TBI.

Ideally a heated O2 sensor should be roughly 10-14" behind where the 4 pipes come together. If you get to far back the exhaust could cool to much to get accurate readings at low rpm's, but to close and the heating element can get damaged or get inaccurate rapid readings. There's no need to put it where both pipes come together unless that happens to be within 14" of where 4 pipes come together. And ideally you want it on whichever said is prone to running leaner.
