    27SF512 chips

    So ,

While digging arround my tuning box last night I realized i am down to my last few 27SF512 SST chips .

There are ton's of these on Ebay as everyone probably knows , but my assumption is they are the chinese knockoffs that may or may not work .

So I guess my question is , Where is everyone sourcing them from nowadays since Mouser and some of the other places list them as not avalible anymore .

Any direct replacments for them ? They are mostly used by me in '7427/6395 PCM's.

    Thanks

    TOM

Supposedly Moates and Xenocron bought out the last remaining supply of these chips so you can get real ones at either place.
Heres a link to a 5 pack at Xenocron:

That being said I did have a guy buy some from ebay and send them to me to program. They did work correctly through at least one programming session. I think i would rather spend the extra bucks than risk it though.

Then there's taking a chance with cheap knockoffs where they don't work! So you saved a buck, but now lost $3?

I don't care about $1 when I buy a chip, I want a good chip! I also want to support Moates so they can stay in business and keep making cool stuff so whenever I buy something thre I add a few chips...

The Xeocron 5 pack is a good deal though. I'd still spend an extra $5 at motes as I am always neededing an adapter etc...

I have used both the ones from moates and some I bought on ebay. Both have been fine. Maybe I got lucky and got the real McCoys on ebay, too. <shrug>
