Sounds like they cheaped out since I purchased then, but are still usable. Mine erases the first time. The only problems I had was when I put the pins in the programmer wrong. Once I realized that it was a smooth erase and reprogram.

Tuned - Which chips did you get & where? Do you believe compatibility with Burn2 also applies to the AutoProm (APU1).
    Tks, Elky

I would think if it works with a burn 1 or 2
it should work on a autoprom.
worth the risk just takes awhile to receive.

These are the original brand of the knockoff SST27sf512 chips at a better price. They just falsely relabel them as I found out with my programmer that checks ID's of chips.

Here you can see all of them side by side. Genuine SST27sf512 on top, fake SST that is a relabeled Windbond in middle, and an original winbond w27c512 on the bottom. Might as well get them with the correct label instead of mixing them up.

The original manufacture of the SST 27SF512 ended production more than a decade ago. https://honda-tech.com/forums/engine...t-now-2721381/ Additional Google searches show similar results http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...chips-obsolete

The Moates.net Burn 2 has limited chip burning capabilities. Often the "clones / fake chips" from Winbond and other offshore chip manufactures that are substitutes for the SST 27SF512 will not work with the Burn 2. I've successfully used both "clones / fake chips" using the Batronix BX32 Batupo II https://www.newark.com/batronix/bx32...ping-High-ROAS

I also use the Batronix BX32 Batupo II for all the different chip variants used for TBI & TPI computers.

Was browsing the web and stumbled across a site that has sst chips.
    Says limit 10per customer.
Kinda pricey at $20 a chip + shipping
    https://www.hamotorsports.com/produc...pr_seq=uniform

Says they have 515 in stock

They also have burn2's seems like they are the same price moates sold them for.
Also a 2timer, and other goodies
No need to re-invent the wheel. But we can make it better

Just found another site that developed a replacement.
    It's a little cheaper at $15 a chip
