    Greetings from Tennessee

Hi all, my name is Phillip and I'm a GM dealership technician from east Tennessee. So, I'm new to the forum, but not much else. I found this site during a search for info and must say that I'm very impressed with the compilation of info here along with the friendly demeanor of the memebers from what I have read thus far.

don't suppose you want to spill on what you might be gathering info for playing with? after all, it's the cars that brought all of us here. :)

As a matter of fact I'd love to spill on what I'm gathering info for. It's an '89 Firebird Formula originally equipped with an L03 that I recently replaced with a well-used L31 longblock and reused the TBI setup via an Edelbrock 4bbl intake and Holley 4bbl to TBI adapter. The car is a daily driver with 217k miles that I have owned for about 3 years and use for my 100 mile roundtrip to and from work. I am having a really hard time figuring out the cause of some unusual glitches and it is driving me nuts. Since the discussion will be rather lengthy I will post up whe rest of my dilemma in the proper place. I have a lot of work to do outside today and the weather is perfect so I will just say thanks for the welcome and I will post a new thread later this evening.

    Thanks,
    Phil

The few L31's Ive tuned, with TBI Pickup '7747 ECM's, like lots and lots of PUMP SHOT (aka Acceleration Enrichment). The L31 heads flow much better than the TBI or Cast Iron TPI heads!
