GM 16147609 TCM Code BACX
Like to know how to
change shift points,
the Diesel engine speed sensor how many pulses etc how can I pick it up from an older late 70's 454 gas engine.
Anyone have bench wiring so I can bench test this TCM?
Thanks.

As far as I know there is zero support for that TCM, barely any FREE support for the PCM in the EFI diesels that followed.

TunerCat supports the 16147609 TCM. Its mask $A6. See the listing here:

So with the usual chip reading and burning tools, you can recalibrate it.

That's interesting, thanks. Its a shame those TCMs are so hard to find, I have a manual pump 6.5 that needs one.
I managed to reprogram the shift points and TCC lockup with the 6.5 PCM, but there are underlying issues with the manual pump conversion and TPS problems.

Most that I've seen who even swapped one in eventually ditched it and went with an opti-shift. And if I'm not mistaken, that TCM will only work with the 91-93 4l80e that didn't use a vssb for the speedo(both speed sensors went straight to the controller, even 4x4's had a output reluctor 7nlike 94+), only worked with the early pcs that required a "cleaning cycle", and didn't work well with 4x4's in 4low. These are all reason's why I've seen people ditch them on diesel's(I'm on a diesel forum with mostly 6.5's/6.2's). I know my neighbor asked me to look into helping him swap a 4l80e into his 88, and it looks like we'll be going with a 7427 in it.
