    95 Impala new member

Hello my names Cade and I have a 95 Chevy Impala. I'm on the ImpalaSS Forum under the same name. My recent discovery was how nice $EEHack is and how convenient it will be to make upgrades and tune accordingly down the road by a real tuner. I am 10 bucks into this but wanna get it right I only have 1 PCM on me so don't wanna start and mess up I would like to get competent at how this whole thing works and communicates. I'll be taking my ride on a trip to Flagstaff, AZ from California and my brother has done tuning so this experience will benefit me greatly. So my next step is actually connecting the red board I bought and the cables from Rx Tx and Ground to my OBD port. I know which port they all go to now but I dont think the thin male cable will fit in the OBD especially with Rx and Tx in the M port and then just ground. Next thing I have to learn is Bin's and definition's and all other terminology. Thank you for your insight I'm very grateful

for reliability id splice into the wiring behind the aldl port rather than trying to use the aldl port pins

mount it nicely and you'll have a usb port built into your car to tune with

Thank you I will do that. I didn't buy any resistor's or diode's cause a member on the Impala forum didnt need any. I wish there was a walkthrough for this if you can remember one I'll search it up but for now I need to read all I can and take notes.

    - connect serial adapter rx and tx, and aldl data wire together
    - connect ground to vehicle ground
    - set adapter to 5v if it isn't already

hope that's enough of a walkthrough, it's pretty simple

So I can connect everything you mentioned and connect the laptop program with my cars connection and get lucky and not hurt anything? I can see live data by just connecting and starting car and not needing to re flash? I meant a walkthrough once its all connected but hopefully I won't have a bricking problem as long as everything stays connected. Happy Fathers day to you all reading this.

Hey I did get it working twice, once in my garage after it had to download its driver software and the second time I went for a drive and it was getting data just fine. But now it wont connect with any COM's I have 3, 4 and 5. I just think it's weird it would work then sometimes it doesn't want to. When the key is on the main light on the board stay's solid and two other one's flicker. As soon as I connect the USB to computer it stop's the flashing lights but one solid light stays on, and if I disconnect the wire it'll go back to flashing. I appreciate any help

Try connecting the USB to computer first with ignition off. Then turn on the ignition.

Sometimes Windows will pick the device as mouse pointer and not as a Com port. Connecting the board with ignition off helps a bit. See in the device manager if the board shows as serial com port.

It did do that!! Out of nowhere a Bluetooth mouse shows up and it confused me. But it worked and I have a 40 minute log. I found my problem I've been having when it get's real hot it starts to stumble at a idle noticeably, it said ERR44 (LEFT 02 SENSOR LEAN) I am blessed with this feature
