    Good Morning

I am mainly joining to learn how to do this. I have a 1988 C1500 that I am going to put a 383 in. I am thinking of keeping the Throttle Body and am looking for info on what it will take to get it to work with a larger engine, along with what are the limits on my cam choices. This is mainly going to be a good pulling motor. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, lot's of good info here. What heads are you planning to use? The original 193 TBI heads are quite restrictive.

You may want to start a new thread with a title for your 383 in an '88 C1500?

What I would like is a set of AFR 195 heads, lol. Price may cut me down some to a cheaper set of Aluminum heads. I plan on ditching the 193's for the reasons you stated.

Yeah, they're expensive. When I bought these heads (made by Trick Flow) last year they were $999 and $100 in Summit Bucks for a net of $899. That made my mind up for me, LOL.
