TV cable between 700R4 and EROD

Hello everybody I was hoping to get some experienced gearheads to tell me for sure if a tv cable can be connected from my 700 R4 to the TB of an emission's controlled 6.2 Erod? The guys at GM performance and at Chevrolet performance.com say no it cant because the TBI is covered with no access to connect, I have a perfectly good transmission, if I can only connect it could save a few pennies. its not that I don't believe or things like that but they are all sales right..

6.2 Erod probably has a drive by wire throttle body right?

If its cable actuated then you should be able to adapt some kind of linkage, however one problem I can think of is the fact that the 700 TV cable wont be long enough to reach the front of the intake. The other is the complicated geometry to get the leverage ratio right.

Is the 700 built well enough to hold up to the 6.2?

here's some info on the setup of the TV cable. You'll have to get a longer cable and modify your throttle linkage to EXACTLY these dimensions. The 700r4, in good condition, can handle a 6.2 with no problems but, needs a little work to eliminate the "soft" shifts.
