    LT1 OBD1 & OBD2 PCM's

    Hi guys
just had a conversation with another member re a spare PCM

I've just ordered a '95 Z28 PCM of Ebay 90.00 USD which arrived today.

What I may have been using is a socketed '97 which would have been OBD2 ?
OK the vin on it decoded to a '97

Is there any issues with reflashing a '97 ?

I seem to recall built OBD2 cars using earlier OBD1 PCM's because of a lack of tuning software
and also i recall the Knock sensors are different since I'm using '95 based parts.

    Thanks
    Mitch

    No chance.

Someone programmed the 97 vin for inspection or some other means. You can change it to whatever you want.

96-97 use different memory chip on t-side.
96-97 use vpw ob2 for communication.
94-95 use ALDL obd1 for communication.
There is no way to flash it with ALDL cable if it is 96-97 pcm. DO you have the p/n.

That was the vin on it when i got it.
    I new they were different.

    Cheers
