$0d Maf on a 305. Loss of spark.

    Hey guys,
    Got a spark issue. I'm using Dimented24x7 $0d Maf code on a 16168625 PCM.
Running a 2002 5.3l C1500 Maf and all the required rewiring to the pcm.
I got a issue where I lose spark Right after it starts and stalls. I part throttle it and get it to rev to 1k RPM and it still stalls and I see spark loss.
I have a timing light right on the coil wire so I KNOW if its loosing spark. Timing light is plugged to a isolated car battery.
I have a flooding problem if I keep cranking it over because I see the light go out, but fuel remains spraying. I thing somehow the feed back to DIZy is getting lost in the PCM.

I have run the stock Memcal ($e6 BDFP 5.0) and eliminated the PCM being bad and eliminated the dizzy. Runs good. Flashed a semi stock $0d BHMD 5.0 bin to EEprom on hacked Memcal to eliminate the memcal spark, default circuits. They run for ever till fuel runs out. All this while MAF wiring and maf wired with the wide band O2.
Have a voltage guage on the pcm. Not losing power. Tried flashing the "AS IS" $0d Maf bin and also same thing...start, stalls...but too pig rich and foul plugs.

Verify my burns on eeproms and everything seems fine. A few times my ZIF socket gave me a error on erase so I removed it and seams fine since then. Burn, Verify. Compare. Upload. All check out.

I got the .Bin and a log file. Have the adx, xdf and bin EagleMark and Dimented posted.
    I have a log file?

I had an ICM fail and had the same problem. Was getting DRP signals so I got injector spray. Just had no spark. Verify you have battery voltage at the pink wire on the coil. If so, take your ignition module and have it tested or just replace. You should have spark even if the PCM is unplugged.

    Not losing power.
I would think module would be good. Both of other programs work.
Had a thought...I disconnected the brown bypass wire. It DIDN'T shut off!
Ran good. Then I shut it off.Reconnect bypass and it went back to it's stalling after running a split second. Disconnected the bypass and ran good after start.
Removed chip and inserted my other non maf one and ran good with bypass connected. Disconnected bypass , crank it and timing went to base.

Think something got scewed on that bin. Have to look at it. Hopefully it's in the xdf and not undefined.

Found another bin floating around that was Dimented helping someone. Did a bin compare and didn't see really anything out of place.
I have a 16197427 at the parents house. I'll see if it's a hardware issue.

Nope. Got to be in the code.
Reading both ASM files he made on the $0d and the Maf $0d.
    But why is mine isolated?

Did you adjust for the smaller 305 injectors? Also the MAF code tended to run rich on the crank fueling....it may be even worse on the 305 running a 350 bin. And you have you MAP sensor hooked up and with the vacuum line on the right port on the throttle body?

Check for error codes. Ill try to look at your bin and see if anything stands out later this eve. I have never tried the MAF code so I will have to look through the options etc.

I had rich start issues at first.I unchecked a flag to correct but it does crank for quite a few seconds before it fires up.I believe the flag was "crank fuel all injectors at start up"or something like that.I don't run maf but that's the change I made on 7427 in pfi mode.

I have a .bin file which I believe is from a running MAF conversion. I have compared the code and the calibration data and there are few differences between your file and this one. All of them can be found by using the xdf posted in the beginning of the thread. Nothing jumps out as a cause for lost spark but I would probably start by setting the flag to allow knock prevention and I would set "look up AFR when in closed loop." Then I might try changing main spark advance bias to zero and bumping the reference angle up to about 8 (with a corresponding change in the distributor position).

There are some variables which may increase crank time that are different in your cal vs some OEM SD cals. You might want to try reducing the DRP to transition from crank to run at $4136 to 38 and increasing the ramping rate for spark advance during crank to run at $414D to 3.10.

Here is a list of differences by location between the running file and yours:

Those are the parameters I set and it finally it runs !
Maybe just the Main SA bias or Knock prevention let it run, but dealing with a eprom programmer and
not a emulator. Tax season hopefuly get one.
Dang this setup is dam good. Just crank to run is now lean. But I can work with that now that it actually
    runs.

Running the 5.7l injectors so its dam close. I see the wideband and with feed back with a NB it should be
spot on. Going to try and mess with the Fail safe speed density if maf fails.
Setup is a 65 c10 with a 93 van 5.0l, harness, 2002-2003 Astro 4l60e, heavly ported 187 heads by me, ported tbi intake, excessively done TBI, long tube headers, single pattern 214d/444 lift cam.
Not a screaming RaceSaver 305 but when its free I can't complain. Hope to be a great reliable peppy engine.

    Thanks for the help guys!!!!
