Just in case anyone wants to use the AEM 30-300 in TP with minor reconfiguration. The tech guys at AEM said the formula in the 30-300 manual was correct for the 0-5v wideband output. That and changes to the Range Low and High to match the range of the sensor.

I figure there must be some kind of work around for the idle, hoping anyways. Also after data logging and hearing ping it showed no timing knock retard but lots of knock counts?
Your vacuum does sound a bit low but will likely increase a little with tuning.

The 218/218 @ .050, .484/.484 lift, 110 lsa cammed 305 Vortec I had in my 1999 Tahoe prior to the 8.1 swap idled about 17 in/hg @ 750 in Park/Neutral but dropped down to about 15 in/hg in Drive and about 13.5-14 with the A/C on amd the A/C blowers on high speed. That was after tuning with the idle timing set about 28-30° BTDC.

It had a fairly thumpy idle.

Hey Fast355, sounds pretty good! I'm just worried mine being a SD TBI setup that its going to be a real challenge to get the idle under control, its an eye burner. I've read they are a pain with less than 17 hg at idle? Also I don't understand the lack of knock retard or I may be reading it wrong. I've been hitting up the newbie threads trying to get educated on everything, may be easier when the Ostrich comes in and I can practice a bit.

Remote tuning is possible. The Ostrich 2.0 ( https://www.moates.net/ostrich-20-th...eed-p-169.html ) is a good option for remote tuning. Using the Ostrich 2.0 allows tuning updates to be done at the speed of email. Sending chips in the mail is a slow process.

Im using HDR1 and BURN1 trying to read my stock memcal, selected 27c512 on flash n burn, hit read chip, saved buffer to desktop opened that bin in tunerpro and I cant get tunerpro to read it? When I open the "open throttle VE vs map vs rpm its all blank/ zero's. Numbers on pcm are serv.no. 16196395 BJLH *868JLHK540541523*
I'm trying to read the stock bin to save to desktop and also read the "tuned" memcal I purchaced and have been running and have datalogs for so I can start correcting the VE tables and emulate but I'm stuck until I can read the memcal limited time to work on it, any help is very greatly appreciated

OK I changed it from 00FFFF to 00DFFF and it worked! Now I'll try to use Daves tables after VE smooth and emulate. Can I datalog with aldl cabl1 while emulating with ostrich?

Short lived victory, got ostrich 2.0 installed in truck, got checksum to $AA in mask ID after mistakenly changing it in checksum. Now truck starts but runs very rough and CEL stays lit up. what am I missing here, I haven't changed the bin yet because I wanted to make sure it runs with ostrich before making changes and this is the same bin I've been running which ran poorly but not this bad. I know I've missed something and have searched this site for my mistake till I'm cross eyed and no luck. Any suggestions???

Attached is .bin file BJLH from this gearhead-efi.com link: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-0D

The 27c512 chip is 64K, so the hex addressing is 000000 to 00FFFF.

What .xdf file are you using in TunerPro RT?

Perhaps with the correct .xdf and .bin file file loaded into TunerPro RT, the fuel and spark tables will look normal.

0D_TPv5_250.xdf and A217$0D TP5v250.adx I finally got a fuel gauge and tap, the 18lb spring was giving it 20lbs, installed stock spring back in it and dropped it to 13lbs. Is the XDF I'm using the reason the ostrich wont work?

OK I just re read both my chips with the correct address and the file size went from 56kb to 64kb, I will try the ostrich again with the correct files and post back what happens.

Loaded the 64kb bin and what do ya know my ostrich works! Just a loose nut behind the steering wheel I'm going to do a correct datalog now and I've read on here to turn off EGR PE Air Pump I dont have DFCO and Highway Lean Cruise, I'm looking but if you could point me in the rite direction to turn them off? I'm going to keep looking and try to figure that out.

I have not looked at the BJLH .bin file, but usually setting EGR On and Air Pump On to a maximum temperature of 151c will disable the EGR and Air Pump. Likely the Air Pump is already disabled.
