    TP Smoothing

Anyone have a good link to smoothing use / advice for TP ?
I have a very good running final-ish tune and starting playing with the smoothing function, what I did was select the entire V.E. table and applied a .99 smooth to it MANY times until the numbers stopped changing, the end result overall number wise was only slightly different than the starting values.

Just playing but very curious as always !

    Probably compuer resolution.

When I play with mine - 1995 Z28 $EE VE Tables, the values stored in memory are 1 byte values ( 0-255 )

For the VE table that displays it as 0-99% there are 255 discrete steps you can store, so each step represents a 0.4% change.
The doisplay might calc & show fractions such as 51.33 but it'll round it to the nearest resolution of 51.2
If you can view the values as HEX it might make more sense.

I don't know enough about the smoothing function mathematically but I read to use 0.7 which may calc slightly bigger adjustments.
Unless you new value is over/under half you resolution the values won't change.

    Hope that makes sense

This one is pretty easy to answer just by googling "tunerpro smooth function" That is what I do if I can not find the answer here. There is some very good info in other places. The tunerpro forum has some answers from the software creator, so it can explain a lot.
