ECM stutters dead at wide open

Last July I had one of my five runs at the track with a weird anomaly where the ECM went dead for a sample and then came right back to life. It cause a big misfire (felt like hitting a rev limiter) and then right back. But it only happened once and I almost forgot about it.

Today I went to another track and two of my five runs had the same issue. It's been in 2 different gears and 3 different RPM, but always at WOT. I've attached some screen shots showing the monitors and the data itself right before, during and after the error.

Any idea what it might be? I've been emulating from my laptop since this spring. Should I burn a chip and see if that changes it? I'm hoping to get back to the track in a week or two before they close. I can't stop the year at a 14.03!

I have been having similar issues with $0D at high rpm and WOT. It doesn't do it every time but I notice it more when engine is fully warm and the efans have cycled a few times. The other night, I made a spirited pull and it broke up at about 5600 rpm. I had the headlights on and noticed they dimmed. Battery voltage according to datalog dropped some but wasn't terrible (12.6 from 14.1) Also got some errors in datalog. I am beginning to wonder if my alternator is either losing efficiency due to spinning too fast or the PCM is losing the ability to service interrupts due to processing being maxed out. I can pop the 6375 rpm limit pretty easily in lower gears. I also have the efan patch in my PCM. I have made a microcontroller based fan control that I am going to try soon and take the efan control out of the PCM. I also run an Ostrich for emulation. That brings up another question.. How far is your ribbon cable away from the rest of your PCM wiring? If the mask ID is set to AA and it gets an error, the pcm will keep going and not set a 51 error.

Yeah, it's set to AA. I have my Autoprom in the glove box and the ribbon cable runs out the back of it and to the ECM mounted at the factory spot in the kick panel. When I close the glove box the ribbon is probably relatively close to the ECM wiring. The ribbon cable is regular length...probably 18 or so inches.

As I thought about it I recalled one more time it did it on the street. That was also in the higher RPM. So it's done it at 4400, 4600, 6100... Never in any gear but 3rd or 4th so far. Not sure why that would make any difference.

I've been thinking the first thing to try could be burning a chip instead of emulating.
