    89 c3500 xdf?

I bought a 1989 c3500 GMC that had a 454 in it at one time and came with a 454 from an rv that turned out had flat cam lobes. truck came with a 5.7 stock (I didnt know before i bought) so it has akwa .bin, I have downloaded $4F but fuel and spark maps look a little spikey when looking at the 4 .bins I downloaded for the 7.4 1tons on here. I tried reading the akwa just to c whats on it and got all zeros in all maps. Is $4F the right definition for this year 747 ecm and the AYKK, AUNZ, AUMZ, ANRS bin files? Im about to put the engine in to do the camshaft break-in so trying to prepare everything as best as I can, also I have an autoprom, can I emulate with $4F? Is there a better mask to use? As always I am very greatful any and all help!!

    $4F is for ECM 1228787: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-4F

    $42 is for ECM 1227747: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-42

The computer wiring should be identical 1227747 & 1228747, so you have the option to use either 1227747 or 1228747.

    I favor the $42 1227747 computer vs. the $4F 1228747 computer.

Thank you for the info. Something I didn’t notice before I posted was that the chip only has 24 prongs. I don’t have any of those chips but do have a bucket or more 7427’s plus the one from a c3500 I was saving for my regal with 455 and 4l80e. That 4l80 is so dang heavy (it’s from a UPS truck) that my front end is sagging so was thinking about putting it in the 1ton replacing the 400 for overdrive and lock up so I guess it would b better to switch ecm’s now huh? If I remember right there is a thread about the switch from 8747-7747(didn’t pay attention which one I had) to the 7427 isn’t there? When I get more time I’ll search but I can get color wiring diagrams so may be simple as that plus trans harness. If you have any suggestions I would b more than willing to listen :-) and thanks again! Sorry I wasted your time on that first question.

The 16197427 will operate a 4L80E using either $OE or $31, see links below.

    http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-OE

    http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-31

The additional link below is STRICTLY for a 1227747 with TH400 to 16197427 conversion. Converting a 1227747 to 16197427 using a 4L80E requires adding wiring for a VSSB / DRAC and wiring for the 4L80E transmission.

Great thank you! That saves me ALOTTA time, which time is something I need more of :-). I probly don’t have much to offer the community but if you ever need a wiring diagram or exploded view of some thing u can’t find let me know and I c if I can find it in our software. Or a 7427 I also have several of the ecms that look like the 7427 that are like 6396 or something close. I look for the anytime I go to the pull your own parts yard. Anyway feel free to ask I don’t mind doing what I can do. Thanks again!!!

I read that 747 to 427 tread and have all the wires switched to the 427 plugs but had a question about B10 toE5 park/neut input,C7 high gear input from 747, c9 crank input from 747,and c16 to E13 tcc. Do you leave out C7 and C9? Are B10 to E5 and C16 to E13 correct?

And What about a7 from 747? From what I read those hadn’t been determined. I guess that can be wired to a switch on the pedal?

Hey wanted to say thank you for all the help! I switched ecm to the 427 and used $OE with a bmhk bin, raised the whole ve table cuz I only have the 5.7 tbi and it started right up and ran at 2500 rpm for 30 minutes and as far as I can tell had no problem with cam break-in. Cel light was on but I deleted egr so turning that flag off fixed it. If you know anyone with a big tbi for a good price I would b interested. Anyway thanks a bunch to you and everyone that developes this stuff!!!!
