Not much information to go on here.

I know that a Moroso CAI system for a 1995-1997 Camaro will work on a G-body with very minimal modification. I swapped a F-car LT1 into a 1985 Elcamino about 10 years ago. That cold air system had great fitment after cutting a hole in the inner fender to allow air from under the fender to reach the air cleaner.

Long tube headers built for fast burn style angle plug heads will bolt right onto the LT1. A set of 1 3/4" primary, 3" collector long tubes with a pair of flowmaster cone transition reducers into a dual 2.5" exhaust with a X-pipe and straight through mufflers like magnaflows will give an otherwise stock small block a nice shot in the arm.

Once you work on the breathing in and out, the next best thing would be a mild cam of some kind. The GM Hotcam kit is well thought out and works very well with a 2,500-3,000 rpm stall torque converter. At the very minimum upgrade the valve springs and put a set of full roller 1.6:1 or 1.7:1 (if you upgrade the guide plates and pushrods) rockers on it.

With the mods above you can get into the 400-425 HP range without spending too much $$$$.

To bring it all together as a package, you would need to work tuning the PCM.

LT1 is in the car now,,, It runs,,,, have a set of headmen headers... 2.5 pypes exhaust.... I piped the intake over to the passenger side behind the headlights..

I think I am at the point into upgrading the engine itself... at least getting a plan together...

I would like to get into the 500-600 range... 4l60E is built for upto 700... So I will need to upgrade the rear end soon,,, Than cam... maybe a turbo or supercharger,, In my dreams,, lol

I would like to get a road map figuried... than make it happen next winter...

500-600hp you're talking a complete build from the ground up basically only using the block and some miscellaneous parts you already have. Forged bottom end plus heads, intake, throttle body and injectors all have to change. I'd definitely stroke it to 383 cu-in for that power level. Here is a possible source for parts to go this way - http://elliottsportworks.com/

You could supercharge it with a universal small bock Vortech kit and an intercooler. Basically, trade the top end expense for the supercharger kit price. If you put forged pistons and rods into it and a bit bigger cam plus bigger injectors then the rest of the top end could likely stay the same and still meet your power goals. This would also keep the rpm range where the power comes in lower compared to running a big cam.

I'd definitely look at a '0411 swap no matter what you chose.

One flaw in thinking to me. The 4L60E will not hold that power for very long. JMHO

I have one of these because I was planing on upgrading the engine...

up to 600 horse power / 450 torque

    https://transmissioncenter.net/shop/...evel-3-raptor/

So I should actually aim for around 500... I guess,,, That should be enough to make the monte feel like a corvette, when I go to the store to get my Milk and cookies...

get a really good head/cam package and some slightly larger injectors and you'll probably be happy with it. if you just want something proven out-of-the box without spending a fortune, lloyd elliot will get you some ported heads and a custom cam that'll buy you about 400hp to the pavement for $1600.

it'll scream even with the stock bottom end

i usually do engine first rear end later, you can always shred up your stock rear end while you're saving for a proper one, it's not the end of the world.

So I used tuner cat.. adjusted the transmission shifts closer to my corvette, changed my manual shift to full manual,, got rid of all my trouble codes...

Any one board and want to double check my file? The url is a data log from my droid data longer... Shifts feel much better...
