Do you mean what the tow/haul set up does or how to set up a PCM to have the tow/haul mode?

GM trucks often have a tow/haul mode that changed the shifting of the transmission. Look up adding a performance button to a LS1 and you'll see how it's done. It sounds like they are referring to older LS PCM's and on those it's an option you set to use the switch and then wire a momentary grounding switch to a pin on the PCM. Then, setup the 2 sets of tables to get the shifting you want in each mode.
