Yes, when you read the chip it goes to the buffer. Then you should do a confirm chip and buffer. Then save the contents of the buffer somewhere on your computer and give it a name. Then load that into tunerpro as a bin and read away.

Before touching the cold start parameters, how's your VE table BLMs? If that's all rich, then cold start routines will be "in addition" to your current VE tables.

I would think your next step would be a couple of good data logs and see if your ve tables need work. It would be good also to get your ignition timng, fuel pressure and any deletes you might be plannng ie egr, as all the changes could change the ve requirement. Once the ve is correct then start fine tuning things such as cold start.

My understanding is you're getting the AFR strictly off your wideband. Anyhoo...you need a laptop, ALDL cable and perhaps TunerPro RT since you already mentioned the appropriate XDF and ADX, with that you can obtain datalogs that will let you see where your BLMs are.

Side note: I don't know if I would use EWs chip as a starter bin if I didn't know exactly what he did to it.

Give this a read for the nitty gritty... http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...-data-Tutorial!

In a nut shell this is the only history table I pay attention to when dialing in the VE table...per link^^^you want to look at the BLMs over/under 128 and you'll be adjusting corresponding VE cell by BLM/128...
