    Chip Identification

im new to this so pardon my learning curve. im trying to identify a chip that came out of my 85 corvette. apparently the ecu was changed over to a
1227730 ECU. i just dont know what cal is in here and i dont know how to identify the chip that is in here. the chip says HLH Delco 2292. i do have an APU1 to read the chip. but im not sure what direction to go to figure out what is in here .

The 1227730 is used on the Speed Density (MAP Sensor) TPI System.

At the moment, I'm unable to search for HLH Delco 2292. I'll post back later.

There is some very useful information on the 1227730 available on this link: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-8D

HLH is a 1985 MAF PROM for a 1226870 ecm. The 1227730 is the speed density ecm for later years.

    HLH 4.00 KB 1985 31378 1227805 1226870 3200 2531 YB L98 5.7 MD8 AUTO

Is that a 2732A chip? I get a memory range/address outside of EPROM size error. How do I know what address to use? Sorry for all the newbie questions. I am searching the forum before I ask .

With it being a 4k binfile, it probably is a 2732 chip. If you have a 7730 ecm, that will not work anyway. 7730 uses a 32k bin and the ecm hardware is a lot different. I am not familiar with a 1226870 ecm to even know if it uses a PROM chip or a full memcal. A 7730 uses a memcal. Memcals for speed density TPI systems are getting hard to find and expensive when you do. There are ways around having a TPI memcal but you lose limp home and most people have trouble getting the knock sensor circuitry to work.

I figure pictures would help out...In a thread you started: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...-to-8D-mask-ID I replied with links...fyi these pics are from those links...
'870 ECM with what I would presume 24 pin 2732A...

'730 ECM with Memcal removed...note the '730 uses three connectors...

'730 Memcal with half the hood and a 28pin zif soldered where the chip used to be...

Here's a good picture of a '730 ECM with an unmolested Memcal...
