Loving the way this set up runs compared to the tbi set up.I'm using the torque converter from the 2.8L and not liking it that much.the stall is too hi so it feels like it's meant to rip the tires off at every acceleration from a stop.not the daily driver feel I was after but it'll do.I've made the throttle arm for the cables and I didn't check the geometry after.I don't think my TV cable is adjusted properly or the geometry is off or both. I'm on my third chip burn and have good results so far.I need to move my steering over a tad as it gets tight when hitting the gas.some more tweaks to a few things and I should be daily driving.I expect much better fuel milage because the rpm is around 2200rpm at 55mph so that will do much better.thanks for all the help of members and info on tgis site I'd say it's a success

Well I've put about 1500kms and am just looking at some logs.I'm not getting tcc lockup.I get a true reading for tcc lock-adjust but false on tcc applied.I know it's not locking as it's easy to tell by watching rpm on log while driving.this trans and tc is a 700 r4 from an 86 camaro.will post bin and log etc.if anyone could take a look and tell me if I've got something not set correctly.

Check engine light came on after arriving at home while idling in driveway.o2 rich was the code.still more fuel and spark tuning needed but I have not had the time or weather to hook up my wideband o2 sensor and guage.thanks

Ran into a few issues this past weak.heater hose leak.changed fluid and hose.next data log my blm at idle were 145.start driving it went right to 172 and stayed there.wouldn't stay in closed loop.o2 was not bouncing much.staying around .300 to .400 mv.I guess it was coincidence that it happen to fail at the same time I was working on it.I replaced it with a heated 4 wire and things went back to normal.the best part for me was seeing how just tunerpro logging saved me any hands on diagnostics with a dvm.b4 using this program it would have taken a lot more time I didn't have to figure out what was happening.I still have not been able to get the tcc to lock up.I tried grounding pin F on dlc with tprt hooked up to see if it would show tcc applied but nothing change when I ground the wire with it running.I've not had the time to further diagnose that issue yet.I get a true flag on tcc lock adjust but not tcc applied.it just stays false.anyway thanks to this site and it's members and tunerpro for making it easy to use this old technology.

Haven't been able to post much.finally got the time to fix exhaust manifold leak.it cracked beside my weld.been trying to get things right on this a while now.my break switch being loose was preventing tcc lock up.now that that works it's much better on fuel.still more tuning needed but my data seems a little odd.little spikes that are impossible.if anyone wouldn't mind taking a look at my log and files to verify I have those correct.and also if anything wrong stands out.logs are not very long.thanks for looking.

Good day all.maybe someone can answer this.I have a distributor from a 92 4.9L Deville engine.ordered parts to rebuild. Realized after that the star wheel for the pickup on this has a missing tooth and hall effect sensor.I'm using a 7427 in mpfi mode.my question is will the missing tooth cause any issues with one drp missing. I'm currently running an 89 4.5L distributor and it has 8 teeth so no issue.just looking to find out if the Missing tooth dizzy can only be used with the 2240 ecm it came from for sfi.thanks in advance for looking.

The missing tooth will cause a misfire problem with a non-sequential injection computer, and this setup can only be used by the matching ecm for it......unless you are up for a little crazy.......such as using a speeduino controller for spark control only.

The speeduino is very universal, and can be used for any type of missing tooth setup or pickup. However, it can only be set up for bank-fire injection on a v8, but for spark control, it would be fine. Large spark table, and can be configured for boost, nitrous, fan and launch control. Just tie in to the purple/wht wire <HEI REF> for input to the speeduino, and hook it up to control the tan/blk <BYPASS> and the white wire <EST> from the distributor, and you can fire 1 coil or 4 coils (waste spark), Depending on what you want. Tie in at the MAP and Coolant temp sensor signals, and you are set. The rest is setting it up in Tunerstudio. Just not sure if crazy is the path for you. heh.

Thanks for the reply.just what I needed to know. I do have the oe ecm but at this time I guess I'll rebuild the dizzy that's in it. The speeduino sounds interesting but maybe above my computer skills.great info though.thanks
