    Of 2 books I see available can anyone tell me what's a better first read.design and tuning high performance fuel injection systems or engine management advanced tuning.both by Greg Banish .thanks

    Can anyone give insight on map-airflow scaler.I've found no info on tgis setting.I see it differs from 4.3 to 5.7 to 7.4 engines and wonder if it should be different on my 4.5.any knowledge on this would be appreciated. Thanks

    Could anyone direct me where I might find an xdf for cadillac 88 or 89 fwd model year.I have a bin file but can not read it.I've tried NS1. .$DO. $DOA. xdf 's and no luck.any help would be great.I have not found any other xdf on any site

    Got this dodge 5.9L throttle body for free.kinda.I returned an alternator that was the wrong one.I went looking for 7.4L tbi but no luck.I remember reading the dodge had large holes and could be made usable on a gm.so I figured nothing to lose.I'm gonna clean it up and maybe do a bit of machine work.take the air horns off.maybe see if the injector pod could be mounted to it or just save it for pfi.it's a much shorter unit than the gm.maybe 1.5 inch tall.the bores are 52mm and the bolt pattern is not at all a match.simple adapter plate would fix that.it uses a 4 wire iac valve very similar looking to a 90's gm fwd and the tps has a 3 wire plug like gm.after its clean I'll see if it's too much to make it work or not.can't beat free though.

    Hello again.just got aem 30-4110 in the mail.went threw instructions. My question is can this be used in place of the oe nb sensor by setting the guage to the p4 setting.does that feed the afr to tp dash and be able to record with the log.I have my parts ready to go to swap to 7427 but have not yet had the time.so till I do get time I wanted to see what I'm at now and be able to log the data with 7747.never used a wb o2 b4.any advice is appreciated. Thanks

    Using WBO2 with the '7747, usually requires using the AutoProm from Moates.net.

    Using simulated NBO2 from a WBO2 has mixed reviews, sometimes the simulated NBO2 works fine.

    The '7427 usually requires both the original NBO2 and WBO2 data streamed into a TunerPro RT data log to achieve the best tuning results.

    Hello again.I'm looking for some advise.I found a 92 cadillac and hope to pick it up in a week or so.it's 4.9L pfi and I believe will have the 2240 ecm.I plan to take the wire harness and as much as I can with the drive train from it.it would be nice to be able to use the oe set up for less tuning.but the wiring is looking a little too time consuming. Would I be better off just repinning and use 7427 ecm set up for pfi.when I swap I'll have about a week to work on it.any advice is appreciated.thanks

    It's a ton of work, but I would recommend the Cadillac 4.9 to 16197427 MPFI Conversion.

    The timing tables from the 4.9 Cadillac will need to be interpolated into the 16197427. It's anybody's guess what the VE table will be, so VE tuning is mandatory!

    Thanks Dave w.I do already have the 7427 pcm set up for pfi and have had the factory bin with changes made for pfi and as much of the sa and ve tables from the cadillac 2240 ecm transfered to the 7427 bin.the tables in the two are not exact matches for same amount of columns and rows.so that was the original plan for the 4.5 but I never got that far yet as I'm still on 7747 tbi.I did all the stuff b4 hand thinking I'd not be able to find a complete cadillac as a donor.but now that I do I was considering the oe set up.I see in the fiero 4.9 swaps it is a lot of wiring work to integrate the cadillac and fiero harnesses to get it to run right and have all the gauges function.turn off vats and anything else not needed and it is supposed to operate with out issue.but I've also read that with out bcm the 2240 does not work as it should. So I guess until I get the car and read the chip an see just how hard the harness is to get out I'll be leaning towards the 7427. It's a lot less work for me because I have the majority of mods done so just repinning and fuel line changes and splice the pfi injector harness in and eliminate knock module and not much else.the 7427 also has much more support and definition than 2240.thanks for the input Dave w.

    Hello again. Well I've run into a few mechanical issues in my new set up.the 4.9 had 5 broken exhaust manifold bolts in the heads.then 2 spark plugs twisted 9ff leaving the threaded part in the hole.after getting those 2 probs fixed up and new pan gasket and rear main seal I bolted the 700 r4 up to it.ugh. there 8s a large gap so the torque converter pilot does not reach the crank pilot hole.I did not know this would be a problem. I ordered a kit from speedway_motors to bolt a 2.8v6 to a full size 700 r4 sbc pattern.it comes with a block plate and a pilot adapter. I'm hoping this adapter with out the block plate will center the converter and then use spacers and longer bolts for the 3 pads on the tc.if I pull the converter closer to the engine it has to come out of the trans about almost a half inch to reach pilot hole.then still a 3/4 inch gap between flexplate and tc bolt pad. So I hope this will work.if not I may have to find a full size trans.does the 7427 control a 4l60e.just a thought if I can't make the 700 work.any experience anyone can share is appreciated. tia.

    The '7427 can operate a per 1996 4L60E. The '7427 can also provide TCC for a 700R4.

    On 7747 ecm in my data log I noticed it said errors:1.so I looked at data list and no errors.I noticed it said ensbled in red beside air switch. Air divert is next so not that one.as far as i knew it's disabled in my bin.turned off key. restarted and reconnect and error gone but I still see enabled in red beside air switch.anyone know what this is or if it's a problem. I double checked snd cts to enable is max for air divert in my bin.thanks

    Good day.I'm in the middle if engine and transmission swap and also going from tbi to mpfi.can anyone give me some info on which way to wire injectors.I'm unsure if it's 4 on one side and 4 on the other. Or 2 on each side and 2 on each side.unfortunately I've run into some mechanical clearance issues that are slowing me down. If it's 4 injectors per side of the engine that fires at once I would guess it's 4+ and 4- injector wires I solder together and solder each 4 to one wire of each tbi injector harness.so in parallel.is this correct.any guidance is appreciated. Thanks btw I removed 4.5 tbi 5 spd and am reinstalling 4.9 mpfi th700r4.the ecm repin from 7747 to 7427 is not touched yet.just trying to get under hood harness in place with the engine in it.

    When the 16197427 PCM is configured for V8 MPFI the injectors are wired in parallel so that there are four injectors on each side of the engine. The 16197427 V8 MPFI system is wired exactly like the 1986 - 1992 TPI engines. Maybe there is a TPI engine in a salvage yard near you, that you can get the injector wiring from?
