    1227302 ECM Tuning

I was wanting to turbo charging my 2.8L Camaro and was wondering if anyone has tuning knowledge with my ecm. If so I would need help setting up 28# injectors as well as installing a wideband o2 sensor.
Also I am unsure if i should ecm swap it to a 1227730 or maybe strong maybe a MegaSquirt.

Here is the gearhead pages for the 1227302 http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-3A and the 1227730 http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-8D

There is more support for the 1227730.

It might be possible to use a 2 bar MAP with either 1227302 or 1227730 to provide fuel and spark tables for boost.

It might also be worth looking at the possibilities of using S_AUJP with the 1227730 http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...27749-v-S_AUJP

There is also the option of using a resistor inline with the fuel pump power wire, like Buick did with some of it's supercharged engines. The Buick design was to bypass the fuel pump resistor, when the engine is in boost, to supply extra fuel when the engine is in boost. With the resistor bypassed, the fuel pump would run full battery voltage. With the resistor the fuel pump would run with less than full battery voltage.

Then again, MegaSquirt is also a good option. MegaSquirt is not the option I would choose.

I would use the LS1 computer with a special operating system for boost. I would also fabricate a custom dual trigger (cam & crank) distributor for the 2.8, see attached CAD design for a V8 dual trigger distributor.

The 2.8 bottem end, specifically crankshaft are pretty much glass. Plenty of stock 2.8s have broken the crank, including the TBI 2.8 in my 1987 S15 Jimmy 4x4. I would personally start with a 1993-1995 Camaro 3.4. That engine has a crank sensor and you can use the oil pump drive hole to turn one of the 1x cam signals. With that you can covert to the PCM from a newer OBD2 setup. If you are running an automatic you can use a newer 4L60E from a 2000ish 3.8 Camaro. Another option would be a FWD 3.1 or 3.4 engine with factory aluminum heads.

Would it be easier for me to swap to the 7730 ecm or do the inline resistor. The inline resistor interests me as I would like to learn more about it.
